Continues to Grow Through New Acquisitions and Products

The corporate group and investor Gobia Enterprises, owned by well-known entrepreneur Jan G. Smith, continues to expand and launch new groundbreaking products.

For more than 40 years, Jan G. Smith has been one of Western Sweden’s most prominent entrepreneurs in pharmaceuticals and medical technology. Together with his son Jan Erik Smith, he leads Gobia Enterprises, a corporate group with a strong focus on high-tech innovation within life science.

– Today, we are one of Sweden’s more active investors in early-stage startups with clear potential for growth and development, and we invest in companies where we can contribute with the expertise and experience we have accumulated over many years of building companies within life science, says Jan G. Smith.

Gobia Enterprises is both a corporate group and a successful investor. The group comprises three wholly owned companies, Circius Pharma, SHI Pharma, and Roux Healthcare, operating in medical technology, pharmaceuticals, and medtech services.

– Gobia Enterprises is also a principal investor in several companies, including Profundus, Kromnigon, Dx4Life, and Gasporox.

The Growth Journey Continues

The pharmaceutical company Circius Pharma was established in 2021 when Essity acquired ABIGO Medical from Jan G. Smith and his brother Leif Smith, while Jan G. Smith simultaneously acquired the entire pharmaceutical division from ABIGO. Today, Circius Pharma is a company with a broad portfolio within pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and dietary supplements, with subsidiaries in both Norway and Denmark.

– We have launched several internationally recognized products in areas including ear, nose, and throat, and continue to expand our product portfolio through innovation and acquisitions.

– In 2024, we acquired Tinearity™, an innovative and patented treatment method for tinnitus that we strongly believe in. It has previously been introduced on a limited scale, but in 2026 we will begin a full international market launch.

Circius Pharma’s headquarters, including research and development, is located in Askim, and in Vallberga the wholly owned subsidiary SHI Pharma operates a 6,000 square meter pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

– Within Circius Pharma, products include Otovent®, a device used for pressure equalization in the middle ear, and Otinova®, which is used to treat ear infections.

– This autumn, we will continue our growth journey by launching an additional product for pressure equalization that we have been developing for several years, says Jan G. Smith.
